Emergency maintenance, 24/7

Emergency tree removal for fallen trees, storm-hung limbs and storm-damaged roofs.

K&K answers emergencies 24/7. For anything urgent, please call John directly at (717) 884-2572 rather than using a form.

What counts as an emergency

K&K's emergency line covers three situations: a tree that has come down, limbs left hanging hazardous after a storm, and a roof the storm has damaged. On K&K's own site the service is called Emergency Maintenance, and most people calling at that hour call it emergency tree removal. It is the same crew and the same number either way.

A fallen tree is easy to recognize. The harder calls are the ones still overhead, like a split limb hung up in the crown or a trunk leaning on its neighbor. They can look still and be anything but. If you are not sure whether your situation counts, that is what the phone is for. Call, describe what you see, and let the crew decide how urgent it is.

What happens when you call

Call (717) 884-2572 directly. K&K's own instruction for immediate emergency help is to call, not to fill in a form, and emergency response runs 24/7. Texting works for everyday estimates, but when a tree is on the house, a voice on the line beats a message waiting in a queue.

Tell them where you are, what came down, and what it is resting on: the house, a car, a fence, the driveway. A photo helps if you can take one from a safe distance. In general, the first job on a storm call is making the scene safe, which means taking the hazardous weight off before anything else gets tidied.

After that the work follows the same order as any removal. The tree or limb is cut in sections, the debris is chipped, and a stump that is left can be ground out later, once the emergency has passed and the yard is no longer the priority.

After the storm: the roof and the cleanup

Storm damage rarely stops at the tree. K&K handles storm-damaged roofs as part of the same emergency service, and the roof repair side covers leaks, missing shingles and structural damage, with rubber roofing for flat and low-slope sections. One crew sees both problems, so you are not coordinating a tree company and a roofer on the worst day of the month.

Emergency line, 24/7

Call, don't type.

K&K asks that emergencies come in by phone, straight to the number on the sign. While you wait, a little plain safety sense goes a long way.

  • Stay clear of any limb that is hung up overhead, and keep people and pets out from under it.
  • Treat any downed or tangled line as live. Call the power company about lines, not the tree crew.
  • Do not climb onto a damaged roof or cut a tree that is pinned against the house.
